Should I still be investing in IRA with current market dilemma …

August 14, 2011 ? Advisor ?

Over the past month I?ve read about a hundred different takes on the stock market, bailout, recession, etc.

Here is what I want to know, and if you are just a regular guy like me, please don?t bother anwering. I really want opinions from people that really understand and research this stuff.

I?ve seen news reports about people going out and buying these huge safes to store their money in. Are we really to that point? I understand the market is taking a beating, but am I at risk of loosing everything in my IRA?S (Roth & Traditional) and 401k?

Common logic would tell me that if we all agree this is going to come around at some point in the future, NOW is the best time to invest, while everything is down. I have about $10k available to do this with, but don?t want to throw my money away if there is significant risk of things not getting better.

I need sound advice. If I need to hold onto my money, great. If I should quit putting funds into my IRA?S and 401K. Fine. If this is a huge opportunity to buy low and sell high in the future. Awesome. I just want straight answers on what we are dealing with, what I need to do to take advantage of the situation, and how long before we get through these problems as a nation.

Thanks,
