The UNT Career Center
assists students and alumni by providing resources/services to explore career options. The
assistance is provided through individual advising sessions, seminars and classroom presentations,
special events, and our online system Eagle Network. The Career Center also collaborates with
University colleges/schools/departments and external businesses and is committed to providing the

Job Description
The Career Center is looking to add an Assistant Director II to
their team. The purpose of the Assistant Director II position is to provide support in advising
students at all degree levels in the academic areas assigned, supervising the career advisors,
developing and conducting workshops and seminars, assisting the Assoc. Director with event and
program management, specific to Career Fairs/Festivals and part-time job fairs.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assist with the development of the annual budget
* Assist with the enhancement of the office
technology
* Manage the day to day activities of the advising area
* Advise business major
students on career exploration and job search techniques
* Critique and edit student resumes
*
Develop relationships with student organization leaders in the College of Business
* Support
Employer Services by meeting with employers
* Assist in developing marketing materials
*
Assist with the Career Center website
* Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree
in related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of
education, training and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Thorough knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to
rapidly assimilate)
* Thorough knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional
area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)
* Ability to plan and conceptualize and make sound
business decisions
* Strong presentation skills
* Strong problem solving skills
* Strong
critical thinking skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally
and in writing
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
* Ability to
work independently
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree and
two years professional related experience to the field of career development, employment services,
human resources, or advising. Along with an additional preference of previous management and/or
supervisory experience and knowledge of career development resources, job search techniques and
interviewing technology.
